Which TOTAL bit for which job?
For metal use HSS bits (6-, 7- and 19-piece sets). For brick and concrete with a regular drill, use carbide-tipped masonry bits (TACSD5051, TACSD5055); with a rotary hammer, SDS Plus bits (TAC311002, TAC310802). For wood there are twist wood bits and, for large holes, the TACSDL1206 flat bit set.
The right bit leaves a clean hole and spares the tool unnecessary strain.
